Case Report on Management of Parotid Fustula Using Hypertonic Saline

Abstract

Introduction: Certain side reactions, relapses are always among risk factors during surgical treatment and parotid fistula is most common among, head and neck surgeries. Objective: To highlight the advantages of hypertonic saline in the treatment of parotid fistula. Case-Report Findings: two weeks Post surgery, there was discomfort for the patient where he was finding difficulty in chewing food and opening his mouth. Conclusion: Surgical intervention should be carried out considering conservative factors where chances of relapses/ secondary infection is less, in present case report, parotid fistula was managed using hypertonic solution which is economical in compare to other methods.
